Subject: Please help David craft an announcement of Sun Microsystems joining

Martin,

David Andrew is going to be the representative to the board of directors
for Sun Microsystems.  I have sent an invoice to David, and he is going to
write a check, so in a few days Sun will officially be a Sponsoring Corporate
Member of Linux International.

I would like you to work with David to craft a Press Release which both
LI and Sun can distribute.

I would like to have a small quote in the press release, something along
the lines of what follows (assuming David approves):

"We are very happy to have Sun Microsystems join Linux International," said
Jon "maddog" Hall, Executive Director of Linux International.  "Sun's
long time support of the Unix operating system is well known in the open
systems community, and their support of Linux is a natural outcome of this.
I look forward to the day when Scott McNealy speaks at a major Linux
event."

I would like to see the Press Release before it goes out, and until David
and I give the word, this is (of course) confidential, and should go no
further than the board and officers.
