From: Mark Stacey <heathclf@skynet.csn.ul.ie> Subject: T/TCP for Linux Date: Mon, 4 May 1998 08:00:57 GMT -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Announcing the beta releaase of a patch for T/TCP for linux 2.0.32. T/TCP is an experimental extension to the TCP protocol defined in RFC 1644. It is more efficient for transaction-oriented applications than TCP. For small data transfers, it can reduce the number of packets involved in the transaction by up to 66%. To download the patch, point your browser at: http://www.csn.ul.ie/~heathclf/fyp You can also download a patch for Lynx 2.8 to enable it for T/TCP. The site contains my final year project report on T/TCP, detailing its operation, performance and some of the drawbacks. The patch may also work for the 2.0.33 kernel, but I have not done any testing on this kernel version. The code is released under the GNU General Public License with copyright to myself and the University of Limerick, Ireland.
