Version 1.4 of qps is now available. (It's almost identical to 1.3.9).

Qps is a visual process manager, an X11 version of "top" or "ps" that
displays processes in a window and lets you sort and manipulate them.

Qps can change nice value, scheduling policy, realtime priority, and display
most of the interesting data of the running processes, including the TCP/UDP
sockets in use, and the memory maps and open files of a process. There are
also graphs of CPU and memory/swap usage, and a graph of the system load. The
latter can be put into the icon of qps.

Major differences from version 1.3 are:

o Looks up host names of IP numbers in the background (no more freezes)
o New window with memory maps and open files of a process
o Child/parent process selection
o Optional cumulative mode for the TIME field (sum times for children)
o Use X11 selection
o Warn when there is a shortage of swap space
o Lots of small changes and bug fixes

Qps should compile on any platform (intel, alpha, sparc etc) running Linux
2.0 or higher.  A binary for x86 is included.

There is also a Solaris port of an older version of qps. It will hopefully be
integrated one day.

The Qt library version 1.30 or later is required.  It can be downloaded from
ftp://ftp.troll.no or http://www.troll.no
